Rotha was Manulife’s first local hire in Cambodia when the company began operating in the country in 2012, initially staying with Manulife for eight years until 2020. Rotha has extensive industry experience and played a crucial role in Manulife’s development in the country while building Manulife Cambodia's agency channel to No. 1 in the market during his tenure.
Rotha earned a Global Star of Excellence in 2013 and was recognized as an Asia Young Leader of the Year in 2018 by Asia Insurance Review. Rotha was recently awarded the Royal Order of Sahametrei (Grand Croix) by His Majesty King Norodom Sihamoni, the King of Cambodia.
Rotha studied at the Royal University of Phnom Penh and the International University of Japan. Between university and joining Manulife, he spent four years working for ANZ Royal Bank as a branch manager, communications manager, and CSR manager.
May is the Chief Financial Officer of Manulife Cambodia. As a member of the Executive Management Team, she is responsible for financial management, profitability, risk management and solvency of Manulife Cambodia to meet growth objectives and goals within local regulations.
May is a Fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries UK (FIA). She holds a Master of Actuarial Science from Cass Business School in London and a Master of Engineering Science from the University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia.
May has around 15 years of actuarial and finance experience, covering corporate actuarial and finance, product development and pricing, economic capital, risk management and investment. She has work for a number of leading life insurers and consultancies in the UK, Australia and Thailand. Prior to her actuarial career, May was a chartered civil engineer with experience spanning New Zealand, the UK, Ireland and UAE.
Nara is Chief Client Officer at Manulife Cambodia. As a member of the Executive Management Team, she is overseeing Marketing, Communications and Customer functions of the company.
Nara joined Manulife Cambodia in 2012 as the first Cambodian actuary in the country after spending 16 years in the United States. Nara has been appointed Chief Client Officer in January 2018. Nara graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics degree from the University of Texas in Austin with a concentration in Actuarial Science. She is an Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA) and a member of the American Academy of Actuaries (MAAA). She came to Manulife with 10 years of experience in insurance and consulting with top consulting firms such as Watson Wyatt Worldwide and Aon Hewitt. Prior to the current role, Nara has played a key role in the actuarial and product development functions, where she successfully implemented a wide range of products for customers. She was awarded Asia Stars of Excellence in 2012 for her outstanding achievements.
Hemy is Chief Digital and Technology Officer at Manulife Cambodia. As a member of the Executive Management Team, she is overseeing the technology and digital transformation functions for the company.
Prior to Manulife, Hemy brings in solid 16 years of experiences in delivery of digital projects for customers across the globe. Her recent role was with ABA Bank, a leading technological bank in Cambodia, where she supports with setting up the digital team and leading the effort for the delivery of digital initiatives.
Hemy is a certified professional scrum master and hold a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Institute of Technology of Cambodia.
Sovann is Chief Legal and Compliance Officer of Manulife Cambodia. As a member of the Executive Management Team, he oversees the Company’s legal, compliance, and corporate secretarial functions.
Sovann has extensive legal expertise in corporate law for more than ten years. He joined Manulife Cambodia during the initial setup of the Legal & Compliance function in 2012. Sovann has been the first in-house Counsel, Corporate Governance and Compliance in Cambodia’s insurance since Company’s inception. Prior to this, he mastered corporate governance for a leading financial Company and was a legal advisor for various projects for reputable law firms around the region. Sovann holds a dual Master degree in Economic Relations of Euro-Asia Law (LLM) from Rennes 2 University (France) and Private Law (LLM) from Royal University of Law and Economic Science (Cambodia), Superior Diploma in Law on Enterprises’ Activities from Lumière Lyon 2 University (France). He is also a member of the Bar Association of the Kingdom of Cambodia.
Sadat comes to Manulife Cambodia with extensive experience in the financial service sector, most recently as the Chief Human Resources Officer and Chief of Staff at J Trust Royal Bank. Prior to that, he held a number of senior HR roles at ANZ Royal Bank. In addition, he has more than 14 years of experience across various HR functions in Learning & Development, Business Partnering, and Center of Excellence.
Throughout his career, Sadat has been focused on delivering the development solutions to build capabilities, shaping the organizational culture, driving staff engagement and performance, and delivering changes and transformation. During his most recent roles as CHRO and Chief of Staff in banking, he has delivered key initiatives for the organization, which include becoming a center for talent development, achieving high employee engagement, and leading successful change and transformation for the bank as well as driving the delivery of business strategy.
Over the past years, Sadat has been very passionate about developing people by helping them perform better at their jobs, leading to a greater sense of fulfillment and opening up career opportunities.
Sabrina joined Manulife Cambodia in 2023 as Chief Agency Officer and was instrumental in rebuilding and transforming the Agency business. She was appointed Chief Distribution Officer and expanded her role to lead the Bancassurance business in 2024.
Sabrina joined Manulife in 2020 as Head of Distribution Learning & Development, Asia Segment. She was appointed AVP of Emerging Markets, Asia, in June 2021. In this role, Sabrina is responsible for leading business initiatives aligned with EM's Bold Ambition strategy, working closely with country leaders across Cambodia, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, and Vietnam. Sabrina is responsible for the execution of strategic initiatives, business management and transformation.
Before joining Manulife, Sabrina spent over the 7 years with AIA group, where she led various business transformation taskforce, including the development of premier training system to develop full-time quality agent. She was also one of the key team members in the AIA Cambodia business set up with the country’s first full-time professional agency force focusing on protection solutions and the development of Cambodia's local agency executive team.
Rattana joined Manulife Cambodia in 2014 as an Agency Manager, and later as Head of Agency Training, and currently as Deputy Chief Agency Officer. As of now, Rattana has worked with Manulife for almost 10 years, and he was one of the Asia Star of Excellence award winners in 2018. Prior to Manulife, he had spent 5 years working as a vice president of University of Puthisastra in Phnom Penh.
Rattana earned a bachelor’s degree in education from the Royal University of Phnom Penh, and a master’s degree in business administration from Pannasastra University of Cambodia.
Jesse became a part of Manulife Cambodia in 2020. He began his career at Manulife in 2013 as an Investment Consultant for Manulife China Bank Life's Private Banking division. After that, he took on the role of the lead for Product Development for the Alternative Distribution Channel in Manulife Philippines.
Before joining Manulife, Jesse had years of experience in investor targeting for both equities and fixed income in Asia and North American markets. He also had experience in Trust and Personal Wealth Management in the Philippines.
Sua joined Manulife Cambodia in 2022, with 19 years of professional experience in life insurance. Sua graduated from the National University of Malaysia with Bachelor of Science in Mathematics, focusing on Actuarial Mathematics. He is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA).
Sua had worked in 3 other multinational life insurance companies across 4 countries in Asia. Prior to joining us, he was the Chief Financial Officer and Chief Actuary for Chubb Life Indonesia.
