In the morning of Dec 1, 2024, Samdach Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia allowed Mr. Philip Witherington, President and CEO of Manulife Asia, to meet for courtesy and business discussion purposes at Siem Reap – Angkor.
During the meeting, the President of the Company expressed his deep gratitude to Samdach Moha Borvor Thipadei for attending the 29th Angkor Wat Internal Half Marathon and Manulife has been sponsored this event in order to raise the fund for Angkor Hospital for Children. The President of the Company informed Samdach Moha Borvor Thipadei about Manulife's global business operations, particularly its extensive presence in Asia, and noted that the company's headquarter is located in Canada. Manulife has provided the first life insurance services in Cambodia since 2012 for the purpose to protect Cambodian families and ensure financial safety for Cambodian families. Furthermore, the President of the Company expressed his commitment to further expand the Company’s business operations and continue to contribute to the socio-economic development of Cambodia, as well as support and ensure financial security for Cambodian families for the long run.
In Response, Samdach Moha Borvor Thipadei praised and thanked Manulife for sponsoring the Marathon even, and this year there are more than 14,000 participants, which is more than previous year. The event does not only contribute to the humanitarian activities at Angkor Hospital for Children and helps the victims of landmines, but also highlighted the real situation of Cambodia as a country of peace, stability, security, and abundance. Meanwhile, Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei highlighted that the Royal Government has implemented social protection policies to help improve the living standards of citizens by providing health insurance services for civil servants and vulnerable families. Additionally, the health security system has been enforced through voluntary contribution schemes for self-employed individuals and their dependents. Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei encouraged the company to continue strengthening and expanding investments and creating new products to offer more insurance service options for the Cambodian people.
