July 05, 2018, Phnom Penh, Cambodia – Manulife Cambodia unveiled a new insurance benefit offering financial protection of up to US 100,000 for conditions related to critical illness, including cancer and heart ailments, to ease the costs of treatment so people can focus on recovery.
“As the public awareness towards life insurance and the industry grow rapidly, it’s the right time for us to bring this innovative product to Cambodia. The survival rate for critical illnesses such as cancer, heart disease and stroke is high if the diagnosis and treatment are done early,” said Robert Elliott, Chief Executive Officer and General Manager of Manulife Cambodia. “But with the cost of treatment mounting, we are very pleased to offer the Manulife Critical Illness Benefit to help people focus on recovery rather than finances.”
The Manulife Critical Illness Benefit is the first and only insurance solution in Cambodia that covers up to 14 conditions related to critical illness, including:
The Manulife Critical Illness Benefit will pay out 50% of the face amount, up to US$25,000, on the first diagnosis of any covered early-stage critical illnesses. It also offers waiver of premiums upon payout of the major-stage critical illnesses, which is designed to help relieve the burden on people during a difficult time. “Manulife aims to provide holistic financial and protection solutions to our customers and we are a big promoter of health and wellness,” said Elliott. “We are here to help build a better financial future for Cambodian families.”
