Manulife Cambodia donates US$110,244 to Angkor Hospital for Children

Funding supports community outreach program focusing on disease prevention for nearly 40,000 Cambodians in Kralanh district Siem Reap province.

Phnom Penh, CambodiaManulife Cambodia – the country’s first international life insurance company – today announced its 2022 donation of US$110,244 to Angkor Hospital for Children (AHC). The donation supports the hospital’s community outreach program to provide health education and improve the quality of healthcare – including reduction in maternal and infant morbidity.

As a longstanding member of the business community, we are honored to provide continued support for AHC’s work in increasing education and access for better health outcomes for children across the kingdom,” said Justin Helferich, CEO and General Manager, Manulife Cambodia.“This is one of many ways we are focusing on empowering health and wellbeing, driving inclusive economic opportunities, and accelerating a sustainable future for the community, our customers, colleagues and partners.” 

Manulife Cambodia’s contribution will provide AHC’s community outreach program with support to bring health education – focusing on disease prevention – to nearly 40,000 Cambodians in Kralanh district Siem Reap province where there is limited healthcare access and a high need for educational health programming. The program includes activities and training on the topics of basic health care, first aid, general hygiene, dental and eye care, nutrition program, reduction of plastic use, and other health topics.

Manulife Cambodia has a long-standing partnership with AHC. From 2015 to date, a total of US$540,244 has been donated to AHC through Manulife’s employees global fundraising at the annual Angkor Wat International Half Marathon as well as donations from Manulife Cambodia.
